Zeev Pearl , ninth generation in Safed , son of an old and well-rooted family, who came to Eretz Israel and settled in the Galilee with the chassidic immigrants of the
first aliya . qualified by the department of land of Israel studies and archaeology
of the university of Bar-Ilan, he wrote a thesis
that deals with the history of the jewish community in
Safed at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th.
Zeev served as mayor of the city of Safed for 10 years (1983-93).
he devoted years to the development of the Galilee and the
Golan by appointment of government and public institutions .
